The operations of the Bay Area HAZUS User Group (BAHUG) are managed and directed by the Western Disaster Center, Inc. a California nonprofit public benefit 501(c)(3) corporation.  The Western Disaster Center, Inc. has been organized under California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable and public purposes, California Organization Number 2157423. 

The IRS has determined that donors to the Western Disaster Center, Inc. and its initiatives, including the BAHUG, may deduct contributions as provided under the terms of section 170 of the Tax Code.  Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the Western Disaster Center, Inc. are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of the Tax Code sections 2005, 2106 and 2522.  Copies of the Western Disaster Center, Inc. California Franchise Tax Board tax exempt notification and the IRS determination letters are available on request.  Donations to the Western Disaster Center, Inc. can be made securely, on-line through PayPal.
