About HAZUS.org ...

The mission of HAZUS.org is to focus on the promotion and development of HAZUS applications via the development and documentation of best practices, implementation guidelines, standards and outreach.  This is accomplished through the support of HAZUS User Groups, the operation of the HAZUS.org web site and information sharing.

HAZUS.org Goals:

To facilitate and support the creation and development of regional HAZUS User Groups that will provide to the disaster management community, industry, government and the public at large dependable, consistent, pervasive and inexpensive access to resources and knowledge needed to effectively utilize the FEMA/NIBS HAZUS (Hazards US) software;

To address architecture, infrastructure, standards and other technical requirements to best utilize HAZUS and to facilitate and find solutions to obstacles inhibiting the creation of these activities;

To educate the disaster management community, industry, government and the public regarding the technologies involved in, and potential uses and benefits of HAZUS;

To facilitate the application of HAZUS within educational, research, governmental, and private industries;

To provide a forum for exploration of HAZUS applications and opportunities, and to stimulate collaboration among the disaster management community, industry, government and the public regarding the development and use of HAZUS.

To better understand how HAZUS.org accomplishes these goals, see the discussion on HAZUS.org Resources.
